It’s October 1st and so it’s time to fully switch into Fall mode! One of our favorite ways to connect as a family is through music. Through the years we have exposed our kids to all sorts of music… different eras, genres, artists, soundtracks… all of it. It has been a deep ingrained aspect of our family culture in every season.
Many years ago, like when we had purchase songs and then burn CDs to share a playlist with anyone kind of long time ago… we discovered some great family songs that have become the soundtrack to our Fall season. We picked some themes: cooler weather, home, together, gathering, gratitude, family, and the great pumpkin (of course!). Throughout the years, the playlist has grown as our kids have come across songs and think they are a good fit. It’s become a fun point of connection all around. It helps us learn what our kids are listening to, what they enjoy, and how they interpret the themes that drive the playlist! It’s a great tool to get to know each other better and make memories together.
